First and foremost, we got married! We tied the knot in a small family ceremony, and then celebrated with family and friends at our reception. Here are just a sampling of the pictures from that day, both from our professional photographer and from guests' cell phones:

Next, we honeymooned in Hawaii.
We spent four days on Maui. We visited Lahaina and went on a sunset whale watching catamaran ride. The Pacific Humpback whales were on their seasonal migration down from Alaska, and they put on quite a show!

Then, we drove all the way to the other side of Maui on the infamous Hana Highway, where we lava tubed, stayed in a solar powered cottage, and saw lots of waterfalls. Oh yeah, and put a dent in our rental car when Vince backed into the mountain. Good thing we added the damage waiver for that day!

We also drove up Maui's volcano--Mt. Haleakala--and witnessed the mars-like terrain at the top.

After Maui, we headed to the Big Island for one night. After seeing some more waterfalls, we took a walk on the wild side and got as close to the active lava flow as we could.

Finally, it was off to Kauai. Although severe weather caused our SCUBA dive to be cancelled, we had beautiful weather for our helicopter tour around the island. A lot of the island's birds made it into our photos as well.

As if all that wasn't exciting enough, we added our beloved Belle to the family on the way back from the honeymoon. We rerouted our return flight to San Antonio so that we could pick up 8-month old Belle from the rescue and drive the 13 hours back home. It didn't take Belle long to start showing her goofy side!

It was difficult to come back to Kansas' snow storms and work, but we had a lot to do on our return--including making Vince's house our home.
