Casey had her birthday and Vince threw a surprise BBQ with our friends. The menu included hot dogs, brats, hamburgers, baked beans, potato salad, corn, and cheesecake factory cheesecake for dessert.
But there was more to celebrate. Casey had one of her contractor friends tile 3 areas in her house. The nasty carpet in the garage entry, the linoleum in the hall and upstairs baths, and the hardwood in the front entry were all replaced with travertine tile.
Casey then painted the garage entry hall, the hall bath and the upstairs bath. And as usual, paint got everywhere, including on Lilly.
Then, Vince helped put the toilets back on, much to the neighbors' relief as one toilet sat on the side porch for two weeks.

Casey's dad also provided much-needed assistance. He came over and put the baseboards back up, which was definitely the "finishing touch" to the room.
There's one more bathroom upstairs that will be tiled and painted the first week of May.

Vince's heroic efforts continued when he fixed Casey's lawnmower. It was a bit *ahem* stopped up and had a loose something or other. Vince fixed both isses and now it's up and running!
Vince's big project for the next few months is to build a fence in his backyard. He got the building permit, marked the gas and cable lines, ordered the wood, and had it delivered. We took on the muscle-building task of carrying the wood from his driveway to the back deck. Casey could carry up to 3 8' 2x4s and only 1 10' 4x4 (okay, so she had to drag it through the yard most of the way). Vince won the contest by being able to carry 10' 6x6s (show off).
